Patrol Rifle Certification

This is a two-day live-fire course is designed to build upon the basic sixteen-hour rifle course and test the students' shooting abilities and decision-making skills. Officers will become familiar with the types of situations that may require the use of a rifle and learn how to effectively deploy it.

This course consists of classroom lecture and a live-fire course. This course is eligible for $20 in grant funding for students employed by an agency within the East Texas Council of Governments service region. Required Equipment:
- Ear and Eye Protection
- Gloves are recommended
Rifle with a sling and three (3) magazines
- 500 rounds rifle ammunition
- Handgun with holster/duty rig; 50 rounds of ammunition
- Flashlight - Weapons cleaning kit
- Inclement weather gear
